Yard Trophy 250 Smoker Plans

Custom outdoor smoker for serious barbecue enthusiasts

$100.00

Build the kind of backyard smoker you’re proud to show off. The Yard Trophy 250 Smoker Plan is a digital guide created by Pig Farmer Ben that walks you through how he built a serious “yard trophy” — a heavy-duty, custom-style smoker that looks right at home as the centerpiece of your outdoor space.

Inside the plan, you’ll find clear, practical guidance to help you tackle the project with confidence. This is not a flimsy big-box setup; it’s a DIY build for folks who like real projects and want to be able to say, “Yeah, I built that.”

What’s Included (Digital File):

  • A smoker design plan that has been carefully calculated for stable temperatures and even heat distribution throughout the smoker.

  • Measurements and layout information to help size and place key components

  • 1/4" plate part layout DXF files for cutting your plate components

  • Complete part list so you know exactly what needs to be cut and purchased

  • Machine part drawings to help you or your fabricator make the key components accurately

Key Design Features:

  • All plate steel is 0.25" (1/4") thick.

  • All laser-cut plates are tabbed for proper location and orientation.

  • Firebox latch uses a light spring to keep it positively engaged.

  • Hinges are stainless steel shafts with bushings for long-term smooth operation.

  • Throttle handle has integrated stops at 0° and 90°.

  • Standard 30" diameter, 250-gallon propane tank.

  • Tank cradle mounts to 2x2 tube via U-bolts and can mount to a skid or trailer in both X and Y directions.

  • Swinging stack that locks in both directions.

Important Details:

  • Digital product only – no physical smoker, parts, or materials are included

  • This project requires access to metalworking tools and equipment:

    • To cut the 0.25" steel plate, you will need a laser table, plasma table, or water jet for accurate cuts.

    • A few parts will need to be machined on a milling machine and a lathe.

    • To cut the tank, you will need an angle grinder or a cutting torch.

    • You will also need a welder and a metal-cutting saw for fabrication and final assembly.

  • This is not a beginner project. You should already be comfortable with metal fabrication tools and always follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.

  • You are responsible for following all local building and fire codes, using proper safety gear, and consulting professionals (contractors, welders, inspectors) where needed

  • All sales are final – because this is a digital download, there are no refunds or returns (except where required by law)
